Les Williams

Les WilliamsLes Williams grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. Following twenty years with the U. S. government, he retired in March 2006.

After having his nose buried in books for as long as he can remember, Les joined on online group of authors and began to write reviews of their books. Receiving encouragement from the group, he began to think “I can do that!” He discovered his passion for writing, and hasn't looked back.

He's had stories published in Good Old Days and The Storyteller magazines. His column “A Senior Moment” appeared in the local senior's paper 55+ for four years. His first short story, “Under Nebraska Skies,” won second place in the 2008 Aspiring Authors Writing Contest as well as second in the Reader's Choice Awards from The Storyteller in the 2011 spring issue. Five of his short westerns, “Under Nebraska Skies,” “Marquez,” “Unwanted Reputation,” “Trail's End,” and “A Debt Paid” have been published as ebooks by Western Trail Blazer. His paranormal short stories “The Encounter,” “Eli,”and “Ezra” were published by Publishing by Rebecca J. Vickery.

His first book, Wheels of Justice, a collection of fourteen crime stories mostly set in small towns in Nebraska, was published in 2013 by Mockingbird Lane Press. His second book of short crime stories, Justice Seekers, came out in 2014 from the same publisher.

Les has several new works coming soon. The crime short stories "Reversal of Fortune," and "Lakota Justice," as well as "Gabe: A Paranormal Encounter" soon will be available at Amazon, B&N, and Smashwords. All are from PbRJV.

When not writing, Les spends his time reading and doing volunteer work in the community and his church. He still lives in Lincoln, Nebraska, with his wife Phyllis Maurer. The couple will celebrate forty years of marriage in September 2016.
